2021 Reading Challenge

Disclosure: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning I receive a small compensation to help support my blog if you decide to make a purchase through my links at no cost to you.

Happy New Year! I am super late announcing this, but I honestly didn’t know if I was going to do a reading challenge this year. I hosted Thrilloween Readathon in October and failed at my own readathon, so a yearlong reading challenge seemed like a stretch for me.

But one of my goals for 2021 is to make my blog and bookstagram fun again. I have no idea what that means, but I’m willing to take a chance and go ahead with my 2021 Reading Challenge.

2021 reading challenge

My goal for the challenge is to helpĀ you read more books (36 to be exact!) in 2021 and also hopefully connect with more of you. The challenges will help you (and me!) step outside your comfort zone and hopefully find new books, authors, and genres you love. I thought it would be fun to mix up the challenge just a bit though, so you won’t know all 36 challenges right now.

I will announce three reading prompts on the first day of each month (I’m already late for January-whoops!). If you like to plan your TBR in advance, then sign up for my newsletter to get early access to the next month’s prompts. I will also include some of my recommendations for the prompts in each month’s newsletter.

This reading challenge is meant to be fun and relaxed. If you don’t complete all three challenges that month, then skip the challenge or move it to the next month! You can choose to complete one challenge each month if you are just getting back to reading. If you want to double or triple up on the prompts because one book fits multiple challenges, then go for it! Reading is meant to be fun, so please don’t feel like you have to read a book for every prompt.

I will keep this post updated as each month’s prompts are announced. Feel free to share the prompts on your social media pages. Use #readwithallison and tag me @readwithallison on Instagram so I can see what you are reading each month!
