May/June Reading Wrap Up | Books I Read This Month

Hello, fellow readers! I am happy to report I finally beat the reading slump in June. I finished one book in May and four books in June. Three of the five books I’ve read in the past two months were five stars, so even though my numbers aren’t impressive, I am happy with what I read.

Review | Lock Every Door by Riley Sager

Hello, fellow readers! Today I am talking about one of my most anticipated books of 2019. Prepare yourselves for the fangirling that is to come! Few authors are on my “automatic read” list, but Riley Sager has claimed one of those spots with his latest book, Lock Every Door.

I am so grateful to Dutton Books for sending me an electronic copy of this book to review.

2019 Anticipated Releases | July and August

I totally fell off the wagon with these posts after the first one for January and February! Honestly, this year there haven’t been as many books that I am super pumped about. I was really excited for BEA and BookCon posts from the bloggers and booktubers lucky enough to go, but even they admitted there were less hyped books this year than in the past.

Review | A Nearly Normal Family by M. T. Edvardsson

Hello, fellow readers! I was sent a surprise copy of A Nearly Normal Family from Celadon Books a month or so ago. I was unaware that the book was coming or that it even existed. I started seeing some buzz for the book after it was released as a June pick for Book of the Month. People were raving about it, so I decided to jump right in to my copy a little earlier than I anticipated. I am so grateful to Celadon Books for sending this hidden gem my way!

Book List | Ten Books I Want to Read This Summer

Next week, I take my test for National Board certification and then summer really begins for me! I can’t wait to get back to reading. Last summer I read about 20 books. I don’t know if I will get to that many this year, but I know of at least ten books I for sure want to finally read. I was not able to give many synopses for these books because they are either the second book in a series or a mystery/thriller/horror book, which I prefer to go in to blind.

**Sidenote: You may have noticed my May Wrap Up post is missing. I only finished one book in May, so I will be combining May and June in one wrap up post!

Review | The First Mistake by Sandie Jones

Hello, fellow readers! I have been in a terrible reading slump for about two months, but I am happy to report that I seem to be coming out of the slump because I flew through this ARC in three days. I could have read it in one sitting if I wasn’t studying!

I am going to recommend that you skip the synopsis for this book. I will be including one in my review, but you will enjoy this more if you go in blind.

Spoilers in my review but I have a warning so you can skip them! If you have read the book, I would love to discuss my spoiler-y thoughts with you!
