Discussion | Predicting Five Star Reads

Hello, fellow readers! I am going to be very honest and tell you September has been a terrible month. I have had alot going on in addition to usual work stress, so reading, even audiobooks, has taken a backseat to life this month. I am hoping things stabilize and return to normal soon, but in the meantime, I thought it would be fun to predict some five star reads on my ever-growing TBR.

Review | An American Marriage by Tayari Jones

Hello, fellow readers! I recently visited Minneapolis, MN and met up with a fellow bookstagrammer, @readwithash, at Half Price Books. Ashley reads more contemporary than I typically do, and she kept raving about An American Wedding. She ended up sending me her copy to read once I was home, and I finally got around to reading it at the end of August.

Book List | Down the TBR Hole #8

Hello, fellow readers! I haven’t finished a book in almost three weeks, which means I haven’t had any reviews to write! So I thought today would be a good time to catch up on my Down the TBR Hole posts.

So basically the idea is to clean up your Goodreads TBR because we are all guilty of adding books to Goodreads and before you know it, there are 200 books on your list and you don’t even remember what a third of them are about!

How it works:

  • Go to your Goodreads want-to-read shelf.
  • Order on ascending date added.
  • Take the first 5 (or 10 if you’re feeling adventurous) books
  • Read the synopses of the books
  • Decide: keep it or should it go?

Tag Tuesday | Bookstagram Real Talk Tag

Hello, fellow readers! Today I am spilling the tea on bookstagram! Admittedly, this is not a new idea. Earlier this year, there was a tag floating around called Booktube Real Talk Tag, but I decided to make a tag with the same concept for bookstagram. I tried to find the original Booktube Real Talk Tag video, and I think this is it. Continue reading “Tag Tuesday | Bookstagram Real Talk Tag”

August Reading Wrap Up | Books I Read This Month

Hello, fellow readers! Overall, I am pretty pleased with my reading during August. I went back to work August 1 and still managed to read four books this month! I consider that a win since I was very busy with work and readjusting to having little to no free time.

Discussion | Books on a Budget, Part 5

Hello, fellow readers! Today is the final post in my Books on a Budget series! I hope you have enjoyed this series. I plan to do more series like this in the future! The final post in the series will focus on websites where you can buy books for reasonable prices. Now, I am not saying you should stop supporting bookstores, especially your local independent stores. However, sometimes you want to buy some books but need to stick to a budget.

Review | The Perfect Nanny by Leila Slimani

Hello, fellow readers! Reading has not been a huge priority lately (back-to-school teacher tired has me too exhausted to focus!), but I finished The Perfect Nanny by Leila Slimani last week. My understanding is this book was originally published in French and translated to English. I was really intrigued by the story and it is a really short book, so I expected this to be a quick read.

Discussion | Books on a Budget, Part 4

Hello, fellow readers! Today I am continuing the Books on a Budget series by sharing various bookish subscriptions. I will not be discussing bookish subscription boxes that contain all of the extras for an outrageous price each month or Audible, as I find Audible to be far from a “budget” subscription.
