Hello, fellow readers! In the spirit of the Valentine’s Day season, I thought I would share some of my favorite romance books. I don’t read much romance, but usually when I do pick one up, it ends up being a good one!
The Dinner List by Rebecca Serle
This book destroyed me in the best possible way! The premise of the book is simple: Sabrina arrives at her thirtieth birthday dinner and finds her best friend along with three other significant people from her past and Audrey Hepburn. The plot plays on the question, “If you could have dinner with anyone, dead or alive, who would it be?”
One True Loves by Taylor Jenkins Reid
This is another book that destroyed me, but I loved the story so much. Emma’s husband, Jesse, leaves on a trip on their first wedding anniversary. Jesse’s helicopter goes missing somewhere over the Pacific Ocean and he is assumed to be dead. Emma moves back home to her small town and tries to pick up the pieces of her life without Jesse. Years later, she begins seeing her old friend, Sam, and the two are eventually engaged. Then Jesse is found and Emma is faced with an impossible choice.
To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before series by Jenny Han
I love this entire trilogy, and I would read more books about Lara Jean! Lara Jean has been in love five times. Every time she falls in love, she writes a letter to the boy, seals it in an envelope, and puts it in a hat box in her room. One day, the letters are sent out to the unsuspecting objects of her affection, and Lara Jean has to deal with the aftermath of these boys finding out how she feels. I love how the stories reminded me of first love and how exciting that can be. It brought back all the feels of being a teenage girl, swooning over a boy (or two or three!). I recommend this series to everybody!
Josh and Hazel’s Guide to Not Dating by Christina Lauren
This is easily my favorite romance book I’ve read! I adored Josh and Hazel last year, and I highly recommend the audiobook! I was laughing so hard while listening to this, probably because the narrator for Josh’s part does a hilarious Hazel voice. Josh and Hazel met in college and become roommates when Hazel has to leave her apartment. They decide to set each other on blind double dates, but they end up learning more about each other than their dates. Super cute and super hilarious!
