Tag Tuesday | Spring Cleaning Tag

I am desperately trying to get back to my regularly schedule posts! It feels like I haven’t written a Tag Tuesday post in months. Today is the Spring Cleaning Tag. I know personally, I like to deep clean the house after winter and move all the heavy coats and blankets to upstairs closets. This tag was super fun because it relates the concept to books I have read or want to read!

1. The struggle of getting started

A book/book series that you have struggled to begin because of its size
I want to read the Mistborn series by Brandon Sanderson, but I am intimidated by the size of the books! I am hoping to read at least one of the books this year.

2. Cleaning out the closet

A book/book series that you want to unhaul
I don’t have any books I currently want to unhaul. I have already given them away on bookstagram or donated them to my library.

3. Opening windows and letting the fresh air in

A book that was refreshing
Josh and Hazel’s Guide to Not Dating
by Christina Lauren was such a breath of fresh air during my March/April reading slump!

4. Washing out sheet stains

A book you wish you could rewrite a certain scene in
I am drawing a blank on this one. I’m sure a great answer will come to me after this is posted!

5. Throwing out unnecessary knick-knacks

A book in a series that you didn’t feel was necessary
Hidden Bodies (You #2) by Caroline Kepnes was the most disappointing, unnecessary sequel I’ve ever read. The book felt like it was not even written by the same person. Plus: So. Many. Pop. Culture. References.
Check out all of my thoughts on Hidden Bodies here.

6. Polishing the doorknobs

A book that had a clean finish
I definitely felt like The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid was one of the most satisfying endings I ever read, mostly because there was SO much I did not see coming at the end.
Check out all of my thoughts on Evelyn Hugo here.

7. Reaching to dust the fan

A book that tried too hard to relay a certain message
This will be an unpopular opinion but..Turtles All the Way Down by John Green. I honestly don’t know the point of the book other than to write a story with an OCD main character.

8. The tiring yet satisfying finish of Spring cleaning

A book series that was tiring yet satisfying to get through
Honestly, I haven’t read that many series lately. I am going to throw it back to The Hunger Games. I found the first book tedious because of the world building and the last book was just alot to take in. But overall, I was satisfied with the conclusion.

9. Looking forward to next Spring

Tag 4 people that you want to do this tag
Anybody that wants to do it! And tag me so I can read your answers.
