There are so many backlisted books that I did not get to in 2018. Today I will be highlighting the top ten backlisted books that I plan to read in 2019. Some of these I own and some of them I have already started in 2019.
1. Night Film by Marisha Pessl
The size of this book intimidates me, but I’ve heard it is a unique experience! I hope to get to it soon, probably during spring break or summer vacation.
2. Hidden Bodies by Caroline Kepnes
I immediately bought this after finishing You, but then I heard not so good things about the sequel and I felt less compelled to pick it up.
3. Truly Devious by Maureen Johnson
I have about three hours of the audiobook left at the time of writing this! I really hate that it took me so long to get to it, but I will be caught up before the second book comes out later this month.
4. Strange the Dreamer by Laini Taylor
I’ve heard you either love or hate this book. I am interested to see which will apply to me.
5. I’ll Be Gone in the Dark by Michelle McNamara
I love true crime documentaries. The only reason I have not gotten to this book is because my library has not had a copy yet.
6. Nightfall by Jake Halpern
I bought this book about 6-7 months ago with the intentions of reading it during October, but I never got around to it.
7. The Perfect Stranger by Megan Miranda
Another book that I purchased last year and never got around to it. I have heard good things about it though!
8. The Villains series by V.E. Schwab
This series sounds like it was written for me! Vicious is on my radar because the sequel was finally released last fall and booktube went crazy for it!
9. The Roanoke Girls by Amy Engel
How many times did I pick this book up at Target only to leave it on the shelf? I did finally buy it from BookOutlet, but then I heard it is kind of dark, so I put it off because I read way too many dark books in October!
10. The Wayward Pines series by Blake Crouch
I have been planning to read this since before I joined bookstagram, but my library doesn’t have it, and I keep forgetting I want to read it.
The Roanoke Girls by Amy Engel has been a book I have had my eye on for sometime.
