Blogmas 2018 | My Favorite Christmas TV Episodes

Just about every TV show has a holiday or Christmas special. When I am burnt out on Christmas movies, or just need something shorter to fill the silence with, I turn to these holiday episodes of some of my favorite TV shows. This is definitely not a traditional list, but these are the Christmas episodes that stick out in my memory.

The OC, Season 1, Episode 13 “The Best Chrismukkah Ever”
If you have not watched The OC, I think you are really missing out on a great show. This episode introduced us to Seth Cohen’s super holiday, Chrismukkah, which he describes as eight days of gifts followed by one day of many gifts.

The Big Bang Theory, Season 2, Episode 11 “The Bath Item Gift Hypothesis”
Sheldon finds out he is getting a gift from Penny, but Sheldon does not like gifts because now he feels obligated to buy her a gift in return. Sheldon’s argument is now he has to buy several gifts at different price points and wait to see what Penny gives him before deciding which gift to give to her.

The Big Bang Theory, Season 3, Episode 11 “The Maternal Congruence”
I love this episode so much. Leonard’s mom comes for a visit, which is always a treat. Leonard learns that his mom and Sheldon talk more often than he and his mom do, and become upset that he knows nothing about his parents’ lives at the moment. Penny offers to drive her back to her hotel room, but they stop and have drinks instead.

F.R.I.E.N.D.S., Season 7, Episode 10 “The One with the Holiday Armadillo”
This episode is a Top Ten Ross Geller moment for me. Ross wants to introduce his son, Ben, to his Jewish heritage and share the story of Hanukkah with him. But he waits too long to rent a holiday costume and settles for an armadillo costume and creates the “Holiday Armadillo.”

Married…with Children, Season 8, Episode 13 “The Worst Noel”
This episode is hilarious. Peg and Al are sitting on the couch in the living room, trying to find something to watch on TV because they weren’t invited to the neighbors’ Christmas party. Meanwhile, Bud and Kelly are in the backyard trying to get the jukebox they’ve bought their parents for Christmas upstairs without them knowing about it.

The Office, Season 5, Episode 11 “Moroccan Christmas”
Meredith really shines in this episodes of The Office with her alcoholic ways, but the true treat of the episode is Dwight buying the most popular doll and selling them for $200 each. Fa la la la la la la ka-ching.
