Book List | Down the TBR Hole #2

It has been two months since I did a Down the TBR Hole post! My intentions were too clean up my Goodreads account each month, and then I forgot about this post! I will try to do better with keeping up with this!

To update from the August post: I kept House of Leaves by Mark. Z Danielewski and Pines by Blake Crouch on my TBR list. I am leaving both books for now because I am still interested in them, I just have not had the time to read either!

So basically the idea is to clean up your Goodreads TBR because we are all guilty of adding books to Goodreads and before you know it, there are 200 books on your list and you don’t even remember what a third of them are about!

How it works:

  • Go to your Goodreads want-to-read shelf.
  • Order on ascending date added.
  • Take the first 5 (or 10 if you’re feeling adventurous) books
  • Read the synopses of the books
  • Decide: keep it or should it go?

1. The Silent Companions by Laura Purcell

I do not remember a single thing about this book or why I added it to my TBR.

Judgement: GO

2. Dead Lake by Darcy Coates

This book sounds like a creepy slasher that I am still interested in reading if I can find a copy.

Judgement: STAY

3. The Silence by Tim Lebbon

This book sounds like a mix of The Descent and The Anamoly and I have to find a copy!

Judgement: STAY

4. No One Gets Out Alive by Adam Nevill

The size of this book intimidates me (628 pages!) so I think I will take this off my TBR shelf for now.

Judgement: GO

5. The Troop by Nick Cutter

I almost bought this from Book Outlet back in the summer, but then I read a review that spoiled the book for me, and now I’m not interested in reading it.

Judgement: GO

So I am keeping Dead Lake and The Silence on my TBR for now. I don’t think either book is available at my library, so I hope to find a cheap used copy on Amazon or a bargain copy on BookOutlet!
