So basically the idea is to clean up your Goodreads TBR because we are all guilty of adding books to Goodreads and before you know it, there are 200 books on your list and you don’t even remember what a third of them are about!
How it works:
- Go to your Goodreads want-to-read shelf.
- Order on ascending date added.
- Take the first 5 (or 10 if you’re feeling adventurous) books
- Read the synopses of the books
- Decide: keep it or should it go?
I think I will be doing this monthly and will try to read at least one of the books that I kept on my TBR shelf that month. So hopefully by December, my Goodreads account will be a little more organized and have a more manageable TBR! So let’s get started!
1. House of Leaves by Mark. Z Danielewski
The plot is still intriguing and I have been saving this one for fall. I also downloaded the ebook over the summer because I was reminded of it on booktube!
2. Night Shift by Stephen King
So I added this to my TBR because I thought maybe short stories by King would be better for me, but I still haven’t had any interest in picking this one up.
3. Through the Woods by Emily Carroll
Another collection of horror short stories. Again, I haven’t had any interest in this.
4. Pines by Blake Crouch
This has been on my TBR since the TV show was released. I did actually download the ebook of this recently, so I do have plans to try it.
5. Descent by Tim Johnston
I remember adding this to my TBR and thinking it sounded interesting at the time. But now that I look at it, the reviews are very middle-of-the-road, which leads me to believe this one doesn’t have a big payoff at the end.
So I am keeping House of Leaves and Pines on my TBR for now. I know I want to read House of Leaves closer to Halloween, so I guess I have to try to read Pines in September or I will remove it from my TBR!
