Hello, readers! Today I am running around like a crazy woman while I pack for our cruise. To get to our port, we will have to drive about 9-10 hours one way, so I am definitely taking some books along for the ride! I also hope to get some quality reading time on the beaches one day. I always overpack for trips, and I’m afraid my book list for the trip is no exception!
So let’s talk about my vacation reads this year!
1. Love and Gelato by Jenna Evans Welch
This is on my July TBR. I bought it just for the cruise honestly. I knew I would need some quick reads for beach days!
2. Hidden Bodies by Caroline Kepnes
Also on my July TBR. I think this will be the first sequel I’ve read this year.
3. P.S. I Still Love You by Jenny Han
I am so excited to continue Lara Jean’s story! I hope it lives up to the hype because I really loved the first book.
4. The Death of Mrs. Westaway by Ruth Ware
This was an impulse add! I went to the library Wednesday, and they had just put this out, and I’ve been dying to read it! I didn’t want to take any library books on the cruise, but I’m making an exception for Ruth Ware! Chances are I will finish it on the drive to the port anyway.
5. Queen of Hearts by Colleen Oakes
I let my followers on Instagram choose one of the books on my TBR. Between the choice of The Crown’s Game by Evelyn Skye and Queen of Hearts by Colleen Oakes, the vote was 71% for Queen of Hearts, which honestly surprised me!
6. Then She Was Gone by Lisa Jewell (audiobook)
I have several audiobooks checked out from my library. Then She Was Gone returns first, so I hope to listen to it during vacation. I will probably listen to this on the car ride when my eyes are tired of reading.
Now that I’ve looked over my vacation TBR, I am feeling a little over ambitious! But I like to have options. And there’s one more book I may take with me if it arrives before we leave. We don’t really like shows and such, so I know I will have some time to kill at night on the cruise. And if I were to run out of books to read, I will have my iPad with me, which has a nice little library through the Kindle app. Basically, I like to be prepared when I go on vacation!
Blog posts will continue on schedule next week even though I won’t have much Internet access! It is kind of exciting to think of a week “unplugged” from social media, but I’m so addicted to scrolling through Instagram. I’m worried I’ll burn through our small Internet package the first day!
Let me know in the comments what kind of books you like to read on vacation. See y’all in 8 days!
