Hello, fellow readers! My second book of the year is one of my favorites already! I have been a long time lover of Harry Potter. I have wanted the illustrated editions for awhile but could not justify the cost. But my husband surprised me for Christmas and had purchased the gift set of the first three illustrated books. I promise, the illustrated books will make the reading experience like (or better than!) the first time you read Harry Potter .

Today’s Tag Tuesday post will keep with the theme of January and new beginnings! Normally I’m not in to New Year’s, but I set some goals for my blog and reading this year that has made me more excited for another year! I found this tag at As Told By Tina, so make sure you go check out her blog as well.
Hello, fellow readers! I finished my first book of 2019, A Darker Shade of Magic by V.E. Schwab. This was the first book by Schwab that I have read, and I am definitely a fan now!
Back to cleaning up my Goodreads account! I briefly considered deleting my entire account and starting fresh, but they seemed like a lot of work, plus I would have to follow everyone again. Too much. Instead, I decided to do another Down the TBR Hole post and keep chipping away at the books on my TBR list. Today I will be choosing 10 books instead of the standard 5 books.
So basically the idea is to clean up your Goodreads TBR because we are all guilty of adding books to Goodreads and before you know it, there are 200 books on your list and you don’t even remember what a third of them are about!
How it works:
- Go to your Goodreads want-to-read shelf.
- Order on ascending date added.
- Take the first 5 (or 10 if you’re feeling adventurous) books
- Read the synopses of the books
- Decide: keep it or should it go?
Hello, fellow readers! The holidays are over, and it feels good to get back to regular content, which means book reviews! Scythe by Neal Shusterman was one of the last books I read in 2018 and I devoured it. I think I would have read it in two or three days if my schedule had allowed it!

Happy New Year! Today I am starting off 2019 with the first Tag Tuesday post of the year and it is all about my bookish New Year’s “Resolutions.” I am tagging Jenn at Live, Read, and Prosper for today’s post!
It is hard to believe that we have made it to 2019! I spent November and December reflecting on my social media, blog, and reading goals. I have set the bar pretty high for myself this year, but with the bulk of National Board certification behind me, I feel I can achieve these goals!
I originally wanted to do a Top 5 list for this post, but I rated fifteen books with five stars on Goodreads this year, so it was really hard for me to narrow it down to a Top 5!
If you disliked a book that I loved, I would love to know what you disliked about it in the comments.
I actually found it really difficult to find the five worst books I read this year. According to Goodreads, I only gave two books 1 star ratings and three books got 2 star ratings, but I DNF’d two of those books. I did not want to include DNF’d books on this list because it feels unfair to call them the worst if I never finished them.
Please do not take it personally if I disliked one of your favorite books-we are all entitled to different opinions!
So many books, so little time, right? There were SO many books that I did not get to in 2018. Today’s post will reflect on ten of the books I wanted to read in 2018 and will be forwarding on to 2019.
